CoreNet Global
- Baker McKenzie
RESEARCH PAPER RELEASE
Melbourne
Tuesday
12 August 2008
sponsored by

Occupational
Health and Safety and the mobile workplace; what are your
obligations?
Baker
McKenzie undertook the research, initiated by CoreNet Global
Melbourne Chapter, in response to the marketplace phenomenon of
‘mobile workers’. That growing number of staff who are
working away from the employer’s primary workplace - at
home; in airport lounges; hotels
or in their clients premises.
As
an employer, WHAT ARE YOUR LEGAL OBLIGATIONS in these common
instances?
Baker
McKenzie partner, Ben Burke and associate Katherine
Aistrope have prepared a benchmark paper about the employer’s
obligations in regard to the OH&S issues for the transient
workplaces afforded by new technology and flexible working
conditions that form a large part of today’s workplace.
Ben
and Katherine will provide an overview of the appropriate common
law legal framework and OH&S legislation. They will
explain how these obligations are applied to mobile workers and
what steps an employer should take to safeguard themselves and
their staff.
The
knowledge gained will help you understand how to protect both your
business and your most expensive assets!
Anyone
who has oversight of staff that work away from the corporate office
should attend! We look forward to seeing you
there.
