Deborah is an
architect and urban designer with over 25 years experience with
both the private and public sectors in Australia and
overseas. She is currently President of the NSW Chapter of
the RAIA.
Deborah was
the founding Director of the NSW Urban Design Advisory Service and
later in the 1990’s became Executive Director, Metropolitan Area
Management, for the Department of Urban Affairs and Planning.
In this role she oversaw the implementation of planning strategies
across Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong. Some of her
responsibilities included the delivery of the NSW Premier’s Design
Quality Program for residential flat buildings, the Parramatta REP,
the Living Centres Program, Sharing Sydney Harbour – Action Plans,
and the Urban Improvement Program.
In 2003, she
was asked to join Stockland to establish the Stockland Design House
on a national and state basis and is now currently developing the
urban planning capability for the company.
She has been
a Board member of numerous public and private organisations,
including the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust and City West Housing
Ltd. She has been honoured with numerous awards from the
architectural and planning institutes and specialist industry
sectors.
