SUBPRIME IMPLICATIONS ON THE SYDNEY CBD

“After years of living off the debt-financed increases in the value of their homes, US consumers are in uncharted territory. A lot of people, including me, have been saying that the country has been spending more than it’s been producing, and that will have to come to an end.
The question is: does it end with a bang or a whimper?”

Paul Volcker (on the US Subprime Crisis)
Former Federal Reserve Chairman

The subprime lending fallout in the United States has caused currents of concern in Australia, with some non-bank lenders and investors already feeling the impact.
The CoreNet Global Sydney Chapter invites you to attend a Panel Session to discuss the fallout on the Sydney CBD arising from the US Subprime Crisis. Topics to be discussed include the recent credit crunch and revaluation downwards of property portfolios; the crash in Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) values; and implications for tenants in the Sydney CBD marketplace.

Some of Sydney’s leading experts will present their thoughts and debate the issues on this timely subject.
The panel are:

•      Michael Cook, Group Executive - Special Projects  Investa Property Group

 •      David Tregoning, Director Woods Bagot

 •     Charles Moore, Fund Manager, Commonwealth Property Office Fund
Colonial First State Global Asset Management

This session will be moderated by Robert McCuaig, Co-founder of Colliers International
There will be ample opportunity for the panel to answer your questions.
